In Luke 17:33-37 Jesus taught “one will be taken and the other left.” People are “left” to enter the kingdom. Other people are “taken” in judgment to the Battle of Armageddon (Revelation 19:11-21). This resembles the way the wicked people in Noah’s day were “taken” by the flood.

Delayed obedience often disguises itself as “not the right time.”
The Jews in Haggai’s day did not oppose rebuilding God’s house. They simply postponed it while other responsibilities took priority. What seemed temporary became sixteen years of neglect.

The Jews stopped rebuilding the temple "temporarily." It lasted 16 years.
Nobody plans to neglect the things of God for a decade. It happens one ordinary day at a time.
