Sometimes people wonder, “Is restitution needed for salvation? I committed all these sins before becoming a Christian. Do I need to do anything about them now?” If there’s one place in Scripture that could cause us to think restitution is needed for salvation, it is the account with Zacchaeus in Luke 19:1-10. The disciples had heard that Jesus was risen, but when He stood among them, they were startled and afraid. Jesus graciously handled their doubt by showing them His hands and feet, inviting them to touch Him, and eating in front of them.
The resurrection was not a symbol, feeling, vision, or metaphor. Jesus was physically, bodily, and permanently raised from the dead.
