Jesus Said to Stay Awake and Be Watchful: Are You Ready? (Luke 21:34-36)

Sunday's sermon turned into a blog post with audio and video:

https://www.scottlapierre.org/jesus-said-to-stay-awake-and-be-watchful/

Discover the powerful call to vigilance. Jesus commands us to “stay awake and be watchful” so that we are always ready for His return. In this message, learn how being alert—watching rather than merely predicting—produces obedience and prevents disobedience. Drawing on teachings from Luke 21 and other prophetic scriptures, this sermon challenges us to live each day in anticipation of Christ’s imminent return. Learn how spiritual watchfulness can transform your life and prepare your heart for the blessed hope of His coming.

Why the Temple Veil Was Torn: Access to God (Luke 23:45; Matthew 27:51)

When Jesus died, the temple veil was torn in two. Why does that matter?

Because the torn veil showed that Christ opened the way for sinners to come to God. What had once been closed under the Old Covenant was opened through Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross.

In this sermon, I explain what the veil represented, why access to God was restricted in the Old Testament, and what Luke 23:45 teaches us about the gospel.
