How can our sins be forgiven?
The natural answer is, “I must do something to make up for what I have done.” But Jesus did not send His disciples to preach penance, religious works, or self-punishment.
He sent them to preach repentance for the forgiveness of sins in His name.
Forgiveness is found in Christ, not in trying to pay for sin ourselves.

The men who remembered Solomon's temple wept when they saw the new foundation. It was smaller. Plainer. Poorer.
